Stdents and council tax
My son is 21 and is taking a post-grad course at UCLAN in Preston. Its a part time course. He rents a room in a house with 3 other people who are full tme therefore are exempt from council tax. Therefore he is paying council tax on his own. he does get a reduction but surely his landlord should be paying it instead?

However if the four tenants have a COLLECTIVE rental agreement with the landlord, your son is responsible for paying the tax.
