I've recently got into watching CSI but the one thing that puzzles me is why they only wear gloves when processing crime scenes. The women don't even tie they're hair back half the time! How come they don't wear those rather fetching head-to-toe white overalls you always see in British programmes?

Because the overalls make you look silly!

You could also ask why the forensic team also handles suspect/witness interviews, how come their photo/audio software can extrapolate a brilliant picture/sound from the most lo-res sources and how come they have computer programs with slick graphical interfaces and output for just about any situation.

The shows are great fun though!

I know what you mean, I often think that too.  The shows are brilliant and the books are make an excellent read if your into reading.
