Breath Test...

Now this isnt about me...im just watching down to earth and some guy got pulled over and asked to breathe into that alcometer thingy. But cant people just pretend to breath into it but not really? Yes, I am dumb!

You dont blow, it wont register, you will be asked to blow again.
Imagine a whistle in your mouth, you dont blow.....it wont whistle.
Save thing but electronic.

Jaimie, they get you to blow, believe me ! One night I had 1 1/2 pints at 7pm, then pulled for a spot-check at 11.30. I was shaking. The woman pc eventually said "If you don't breathe sir I am afraid I shall have to arrest you" (or similar). So the world went before my eyes and I blew. Then she gave me a little hug and said "Calm down sir, you're fine !". I drove away on cloud 9.

Dont know how mfewell got a hug from a WPC. Bet the experience put you off drinking and driving. Waiting for the light to change is a lifetime. Tell me where you live. I love women in uniform. Love to blow for her!

Don`t know if this is true but apparently? placing copper coins into your mouth has an effect on the breatherlizer. Never ben pulled for DUTI so wouldn`t know

All breath test meters have a series of lights on them which tell the operator that you are or are not blowing through the plastic mouthpiece.  It will sense if you are not blowing hard or long enough for a sample of your breath to be taken.  Some people even put their tongue tip over the mothpiece and blow very hard around the outside of the tube.  The machine cannot be fooled, that just leads to an immediate arrest for refusing to supply a sample of breath when required to do so.
