Will you come and live with me and be my permanent garden adviser please!!

I have started on my bulbs and groundcover project.  It is going to cost a fortune!!!  I have an abudance of wild strawberries - will they grow OK in the semi-shade of my woodland garden if I divide them up and replant them?

My book says: As soon as the crop has been picked, remove old foliage to leave about 4" of stem above the young leaves & crown. Clear away foliage & other debris from around plants to minimise pests & diseases. Stuff face with strawberries & cream! (ok so I added that bit!)

Thank you robinia some of the leaves are starting to turn a reddish brown colour now so I shall start snipping at them soon. I have picked a good few again today so no doubt will be stuffing my face soon !! I am really pleased with them ..never having grown them before..and they are lovely and sweet.

I have been outside in the pouring rain planting all my new bulbs and plants helped by my black and white cat.  I must be mad, but I enjoyed every minute and love getting covered in mud and gunge!
