They have tarted it up a bit but not refurbished it. The loos were leaking and the air conditioning had broken down and the mattresses were dirty. It really looked awful.
However, the good thing is, perhaps that programme has done some good and they may have spruced it up before you go.
I do hope so.

Oh dear mybutty. It really didn't look good and it certainly doesn't look good for Thomsons. It seems apparent that Thomsons are trying to squeeze as much as possible out of the ship for the least outlay, which surprises me about them.
I would be inclined to go into your local Thomson agent and express very real concerns about the standard of the ship. It seems the ship is going into dry dock soon but that's only for essential and legal maintenance and not to be refurbished. It may well be that the toilets and air conditioning will still be giving problems in the near future and the mattresses looked disgusting. You expect and deserve a certain standard of comfort and cleanliness for your money and you expect to enjoy your cruise. Be adamant that you want guarantees from Thomsons or even consider tranferring to another holiday - at their expense of course! Surely ABTA would cover problems like this.
I hope you get it sorted and enjoy your holiday.
