Zanussi fridge stopped working
The top part of our fridge has stopped working although the light is still on. The freezer part on bottom is still OK. Any suggestions of how to fix would be appreciated.

There is usually some sort of modulating valve (electronically controlled) in the sytem. These can fail, resulting in a need to drain the refigerant, cut out the valve from the tubing, and solder/fit a new valve. These can be expensive to repair.
One way is to buy one of those maintenance/repair contracts for a year (it might cost you £120) but I would think a repair/callout could easily cost that anyways!
Other option is to scrap it of course.
