NITS - short or long hair??
Im itching already at the thought of it but do NITS go more for longer hair on girls than they would on a short haired boy.
My sister has told me that her 3 yr old daughter has had NITS to which she treated on Sunday and was told not to keep putting it on unless they returned. I said Id use it anyway to keep them away but she hasnt re-used. My parents are looking after my son tomorrow (also 3yrs old) plus my sisters daughter.
I cant check her hair myself but Im paranoid that she might still ahve something even though she said it looks clear. My son has just had his hair cut so I know he doesnt have anything prior to tomorrow but even with a NUMBER 2 haircut ... could they still jump over to him if they are lurking!?
Ohhhh Im starting to itch again!

Im probably being over paranoid anyway as my sisters other daughter is fine and so is the rest of the family!!

tea tree can be quite potent in small doses and not always work, personally I would use the wet combing method which can be time consuming but the results are much better

I have two boys who have had varying length of hairstyles but have never had nits so far - I think as cazz said, the shorter the hair the less likely they are to hang about and also would be clearly visible and easier to get rid of. Once he is in playgroup/nursery and school, you wont be able to control who he is sitting next to or mixing with and there is always one parent who doesn't bother to treat their child and the other kids keep caching them from her (and it usually is a her, boys are much less likely to get them). Sounds like they are managing the issue and it would be a shame for your son to miss playing with his cousin. I would just arrange bath time for when he gets home and use loads of conditioner and a good fine comb run over his head - just in case :o)
