Anyone been to an Azed lunch before? I'm going to the Azed 2,000 lunch in Oxford this Saturday - no idea what to expect, but looking forward to meeting other Azed aficionados.

Nice lunch, shame about having to perch on a bench for three hours - just like being back at uni. Several others who were present have also commented at http://telescoper.wor...2010/09/26/azed-2000/
Done the puzzle, which wasn't that much harder than usual and probably easier than it looked at first sight. The 'cryptic clue' around the outside wasn't really all that cryptic, but at least there's no ambiguity about what the two-word phrase is. Off now to wrap the proverbial wet towel around the head and try to come up with a clue worth submitting . . .

Hey! Thanks for linking to my blog. I enjoyed the lunch enormously, and was quite tipsy on the way home. I also managed to do the 2000th puzzle, although it took me quite a while. I don't really enjoy them so much when what's entered in the grid is not an actual word, though, so I was quite disappointed with the form of this one.
