Over last few days, I have been aware of my heart 'fluttering'. It's not painful or anything, but just wonder if it's anything to worry about?
Seem to have been at doctors a lot recently with one thing and another and reluctant to go again if it's nothing.
Any advice/comments please?

Do you drink a lot of caffeine?

no, have decaff coffee at home and at work
Commonest cause is that of anxiety and stress.
If no other symptoms e.g chest pain or breathlessness, then monitor the situation.
I would guess it's stress - you did mention you've had a few maladies lately. I would think it's due to a benign (harmless) cause - either stress, tiredness etc.

Leave it a while and see, if you're then still worried go to see your GP who will carry out a few simple blood tests in the first instance. x

thank you for your answers.
Life has been a bit stressful recently, so perhaps that's why it's happening.
I will go to doctors if I start to worry too much or it gets worse.
how old are you? if you're anything over 40 it could be connected to perimenopause, the years leading up to menopause when hormones start fluctuating. heart flutters are one of the most common symptoms but not many ladies connect them with it.
Hi shoemad,

Agree with Sqad.....anxiety and stress could be the main cause, so as you say, monitor it and see if it persists....if it does, just get yourself checked out......doctor may arrange for you to have a ECG test, to make sure all's hunky dory......i'm sure it is, so dont try to worry and all the best to you x
