download speed on thepiratebay

When i download a pirate bay movie using UTorrent my download speed is usually between 40 and 60, but on the odd occasion it goes as high as 3 or 400. Talking to mates, they seem to get consistent speeds of 400 although their machines are older than mine. My computer is windows XP professional,with 91GB of free space and 1GB ram.What are the optimum settings for UTorrent downloads preferences?

I just make compilations up for my 3 year old grandson and if I taped them direct from TV I would still be "stealing" along with 60 million people in this country.( but apparently not Chuck)

They will still be copyrighted, hence downloading them is stealing.

Zingo, your download settings should roughly match your upload setting. It's been a while since I set mine up, but I think I set it as unlimited.

Changing these setting will not necessarily change you download speeds. Lots depends on the number of downloaders who are downloading the same file, and how many people are seeding the files. I sometimes get a download speed of 2000kbs, but other times I might get 50 or 60. I'm no expert, but it all comes down to available bandwidth I believe.

I have been downloading torrents for about 6 years, and as far as I can recall I have never had a problem with a virus or any malware.
