Paid to answer on this site?

After reading through plenty of this site I do notice the same people giving exceptionally good answers. This differs from many other forums as you usually get members asking you to read through the whole forum before you ask and get angry if you as a question that has been previously asked. I personally don't answer many questions as my knowledge is pretty limited but I do try occasionally. So I was just wondering if some people actually get paid for answering these questions?

When the AB begain in 2000, it paid a series of Section Producers to write a couple of features per week, and answer the questions posted - which would be in their area of expertise - i handled the Music section.

When the site became 'stand-alone', th Producers were released from their contracts, and from then on, no-one is paid to answer, although the Eds are employed by the parent company.

I just enjoy sharing what information as I may have which will help others, and am glad when other people help me out in the same way.

Generally I've relied on chuck and buenchico and others to give me advice. Not being technically minded, they've helped me out a few times and I'm always grateful for their responses. They are well thought of on this site.

I should get paid $1000 for every time that I mention honestly on here that tony blair is a worthy world statesman and an extra $5000 for each time I mention that gordon brown is an economic genious. Haven't received a penny yet, but maybe if i see the flying pink pig over my patio, i'll be quids in

In my opinion their kindness and very helpful advices are instrumental in keeping this site and its members.

Ethel wherever you are I hope you are at peace; you were quite helpful too. Others that I miss and haven’t seen in a while are ActheTroll and Fo3nix. (and of course Whiffey too.)
