DAMP CARAVAN
Two days ago we brought home our secondhand caravan (2004 model), and only today used a damp meter on it to our horror discovering damp walls at the back end. There are no obvious signs or smells, but the meter screeches. Is there any action we can take regarding the payment (£7000). We bought it from a reputable car firm, but would like advice on how we stand before contacting them.

If it was advertised as a caravan for sale, no damp then there would be a problem but it's probably unlikely it was sold as that. I think it's your job to check the damp situation out BEFORE you buy it, not afterwards. the sellers probably don't even know if there are no signs or smells. You could contact them but as far as i can see you do not have any right to demand anything from them
