I alwaysknew you carried a heavyweight - that is sad re your son but remember you still have him living which could be a heavier cross. Sadly that is way some families are. I know of one family (my friend) 4 girls and 2 boys and none of them speak - all young too ie 40-60. Good luck Bobbi whatever you do and I know it is all so personal to you.

Hya Conn, I don't feel sorry for myself at all because I know I did, and do my best, also there are a lot of folks who carry heavy burdens in their lives, I have said all I really am going to say on it now except that my door is always open to him, same as my heart, and so I get on with my life from day to day, as we all do .
I'm my nan and grandpa's (mums mum and dad) only proper, biological grandchild . . . .
Question Author
are you Molly, thats nice ;-0)
They have loads of grandkids, but all the others are step-granchildren to them . . . .
But they don't melt over me. Whenever we visit each other, my nan and mum jsut end up shouting at each other.
Question Author
now Molly we will not go there pet...lol
Funniest thing for me was at Christmas watching 'new mum' D in L fretting over the child and trying to distract him with expensive new toys. New Granny said 'Just give him here, and pass a bit of that cellophane wrapping'. Result! Child instantly settled at the reassuring calmness of granny and fascinated by the scrunching of the crackly paper.Peace reigned. There's a lot to be said for experience!
