Tolerance

I'm appalled at public attitude to the new mosque near Ground Zero. To show our tolerance we should let them build a mosque. Then across the street we could have a topless bar called You Mecca Me Hot, a gay bar called Turban Cowboy and next door a pork rib restaurant called Iraq o' Ribs. Then the people who want to build that mosque can show their tolerance. Solved.

Are you mssing the point of the 'tolerance' concept here?

Although impossible to find a comparison given the scale of the horror 9/11 - how far are we going to take this inability to move on and build bridges with the majority of Muslims, and take the power away from the extremists.

I would think long and hard about protesting about a new Catholic church being built near me - even though the Christian Brothers's support and cover-up of a child abuser in my wife's school cost her both her career and her health (long story!)

We get nowhere nursing our pains, we must move forward, or else the wrongdoers simply triumph and grow.

You need to get out more. The "Coalition of the Willing" destroyed Iraq, killing many more people than the 9/11 tragedy and especially children. All for "weapons of mass destruction" that official inspectors reported did not even exist.
