Children's Wild Animal Programme in the 80's

About 20 years ago there was a children's wildlife series that didn't run for very long, but it was wildlife being filmed but with human voices put over the top. I remember one particular one where an eagle or kestrel swooped down to a baby bird's nest and it's human voice said "Now then you troublemakers" and the baby bird's answered "It's trouble for you!" and pecked back. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called.....?????

On BBC TV there was a program called Animal Magic with Johnny Morris giving voice to various creatures. It was a popular children's program during the 70's with some very funny lines by Morris who played all the voices. It ended in 1983. He received an OBE and died in 1999.

Animals of Farthing Wood doesn't ring a bell but I'll Google for it. Definitely WASN'T Animal Magic (I remember that well!!) and it ran a lot longer than the programme I am thinking about - the one I am thinking of only ran for 1-2 series I think.

No wasn't Animal of Farthing Wood. It was't a cartoon. It was like a proper wildlife documentary for children except they put human voices over the top of the animals and it ran for maybe 1 series and was on Childrens ITV at teatime ish.

Was it definitely the 80s? I seem to remember that "Heads & Tails" did that kind of voice-over thing, and it was, I think, voiced by the brilliant Derek Griffiths. But I'm fairly certain "Heads & Tails" was the 70s, unless they repeated it.

Nope - sorry - just asked my sister (we used to watch it as kids and she can't remember what it was called either!) - she says she remembers "Heads and Tails" and it (the other programme) was a lot more light-hearted. I don't think good old Derek did the voice-over for the one we are trying to think of either. It was different people's voices.
