We've got a printer wired to a PC which runs Windows XP. We also have two laptops, one on XP and the other on Windows 7. The PC is wired to a router and the laptops connect wirelessly.

I'd like to be able to print from the laptops. So, I've been to the printer settings on the PC, which now has the 'sharing' hand under it. When I got to the XP laptop, ask it to add a printer and browse for that printer, a list comes up with the PC's name on it, but no printers.

Can anybody point me in the right direction here? Have I missed a stage out? I thought I was doing what the Windows Help instructions said, but I'm not getting very far, so have obviously got something wrong!

have you loaded the printer drivers on the laptop?
Apart from loading the printer drivers if you wish to use XP with Windows 7 you have to change XP from MSHOME to WORKGROUP in the name and then turn on printer sharing on all computers so as your network will work.

Thanks for the help, both - and no, I'd not thought of the printer driver! What a dope!
