i know jk rowling shares the same birthday as the character' harry potter,  that's easy to explain she chose her own birthday for harry, but the fact that daniel radcliffe shares both her and harry's birthday baffles me,  did she search for a kid with the same birthday or was it an amazing coincidence?  this is driving me nuts please help

Probably due to the strange but true fact that if you select 24 people at random the chances are just over 50% that two of them will share the same birthday and the chances that 3 people out of 24 share the same birthday is just over 16.5%.

But alas the IMDB website reports
Harry Potter's birthday is reported in the books as being "somewhere in July". Author J.K. Rowling, and actors Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Richard Griffiths (Uncle Vernon) were all reported to have their birthdays on 31 July. It was later revealed that Radcliffe's birthday is, in fact, 23rd July and that the claim that his birthday was the same as Harry Potter's was merely a publicity stunt.

It was never up to her who was cast as HP, she just had approval of approval so it is quite freaky, unless there was a conspiracy the KFR knew nowt about.
