boxtops, maybe, but i remember a few years ago that jamie oliver was doing beans on toast for £15, so whats the difference? you may expect better quality but who is to say you get it?

as it happens i had a ploughmans meal, not much to go wrong with that, dont you believe it
I work in a kitchen also EDDIE....but it's a charity-we can only afford a microwave-though it's not used for 'cooking'.... ;-)

Had a mixed grill at our local Wetherspoons a couple of weeks ago and it was lovely. Couldn't eat it all as there was so much. They are normally cheap and cheerful so you get what you pay for.
I did some care home cooking also EDDIE....but the last one I was at severely reduced their standards. I find I am doing more 'good' where I am-and virtually all our food comes to us via contributions. It's not haute cuisine-but it's very much appreciated by our clients.
PS EDDIE...I know what they do in the big pub chains...that's why I won't eat in them... ;-))

What was the matter with it, then, gina? As you say, that's pretty basic fare!
Wouldn't go to Wetherspoons for fine dining, though it's just the job when I meet up with a friend for a lunch and an afternoon drinking beer. Soaks up the beer nicely.
