You're right - however, the S Exp tends to use Collins Dictionary for its definitions & 'Bren gun' has the "World War II" reference & 'Sten gun' doesn't, hence my choice of answer...
The Sten (or Sten gun) was a family of British 9 mm submachine guns used extensively by British and Commonwealth forces throughout World War II and the Korean War.
Sten for sure. The Bren never used 9mm ammo. Although they did sometimes use .303 -- the ones I was given for army training in the 1950s, anyway. As for the Sten, you had to hold them very firmly. They had a habit of taking you over if you didn't.
