quite enjoyed the programme with piers but did feel it would be uncomfortable viewing for her husband. Did not think it was really appropriate to be chatting about it but then realised it was all in a book!

I thought Cole was our national treasure these days?! Either way, both Cole and Windsor are just celebrities, and not particularly good or interesting ones at that but that can be said for many other celebs too. I think if I had to describe any celebrity as a national treasure it would be someone like Stephen Fry.

I think you could write on a drawing pin the many thoughts of Barbara Windsor but that's probably just me being mean ;0)

I think someone like Stephen Fry is worth more because he can be quite outspoken and articulate about important things, such as his stance on religion.... I guess I just think that if you've got all that attention aimed at you then you may as well try and do something good with it. Lumley's another one, she was outspoken about the gherkers (really bad sp, sorry!). I don't necessarily think that makes either Lumley or Fry a national treasure necessarily but I would rather people like them be described in such a way rather than a couple of one trick wonders.

There have been far too many men digging in her national treasure chest to be recognised by the nation. Someone who has been of genuine good for the entertainment world and has charitable connections too. Ok Terry and Brucie but not Babsie.

Agree cazzz, National Treasures are stately homes with beautiful surroundings and gardens can't say that for these so called celebs!
