red marks on my skin

i have recently noticed that i am getting lots of little red marks on my right arm. they're like the marks farmers get on their cheeks, kind of spidery red spots.  someone told me they are split capillaries but i'm not sure if they are, and if they are why am i getting them.  in the last few months i have got 7 on my arm.  does anyone know what they are and what is causing them, also can i get rid of them????

hi there, they do sound like broken capillaries, sometimes known as spider neveii ( I think that's how it's spelt) anyway I went to the docs and had mine lasered off eventually. (I did see a specialist first to confirm) got it all done on the NHS bar the laser which cost �400 a pop!
