Varifocals

anyone wear them? Are they any good, should I buy some?

Picked them up today, seem OK but I can't use them for computer work :o( I have to decide by Monday if I want to keep them

Yes I have worn them for a good 15 years so has my husband. Neither of us had a problem for more than a day.

I am due an eye test in an hour and will be re-ordering Varifocal as did my husband last week.

I have never met anyone who didn't get on with them but understand there are a few people who have.

Well worth a try IMO.

Specsavers let you take them back if you have a problem too.

very reassuring DD. I seem to be doing OK apart from the computer. fingers crossed I should know by Monday if they are going to work for me.

ive worn them for many many years and wouldnt change them, the size of the frame also has a great deal to do with the "corridor" of vision, if you have a large frame then obviously the vision corridor will be greater than a small frame, the optician will advise you

Hi mazie,
I wondered when you were getting them.Glad to hear they seem ok at the moment.
Did your optician advise you not to use them,for computer work,or is it that you find it difficult.
If the latter,perhaps a return to the opticians,stating your problem,may help.

Hi DG. He didnt mention I would have a problem but I knew I would as I use my reading glasses to see the screen properly. I can see the screen wearing the Vari's but I have to tilt my head right back and not only do I look stupid I;m sure it's not going to do my neck much good. I think if I higher the screen that might do the trick. I still have my reading glasses so am using those at the moment. I think I should be Ok with them. I've been wearing them when not at the PC and they seem to be OK. I just have to get used to them.... xx
