I must take care this week not to "show off" my culinary skills. Anyhoo, I'm alone today so I'm not cooking. Lunch will be a Rocky Road Bar (I've made some for Bob, but there are surplus) and a dozen mugs of tea. For dessert, a cigarette or six.

What are you having/doing today?

lol Bloomwood.

Sqad, I have mild concerns about the Mustard you purchased from El Corte Inglise [sic]. Is that Oestrogen flavoured, or Tarragon flavoured. I'm not sure what the French for Tarragon is? I think it's estragón, or something, in Spanish??

Not bad going for an Octogenarian.
MoM....LOL....not oestrogen....Tarragon. LOL

Its smooth, green and brings out the flavour of the bacon.
we two too are vegaholics, not a proper meal in our house unless it contains at least 3-4 veg.
i no longer do a sunday dinner, saturday evening being our main meal of the week-end. so yesterday i made my version of shepherds/cottage pie. the mince bit contained 6 large carrots, 6 leeks, and 2 large onions. the topping, instead of mashed potato, was a cauli and a head of broc mashed up with some grated cheese. there's about a third of it left over for this evening.
sunday lunch will be a chicken salad sandwich, an apple and a glass of apple juice. and one of Nom or bloomwoods rocky roads (i wish).
Not bad for any ....genarian.
Yeah quite healthy, the bacon hash browns mushrooms and sausage are all grilled and the egg is well cooked in veg oil, good job I don't intend having 6 cigs with it, that would deffo be unhealthy lol
Eth.........fan,bloody tastic........dont forget the Branston Pickle with the Cottage/Shepherds) pie.

Well I guess it was green, Sqad. The "vert" rather gave it away...

Gosh no, Dot... you really would be in heart attack territory then.
Forgot I was suppose to do a fry up today. Got all the ingredients from the farm shop yesterday. I won't mention it....

Slow roast belly pork with cider gravy, broccoli and cauli, roast potatoes. I might make a tarte tatin for pud. If I can be bothered to go out I might get a savoy and stirfry it with some onion and bacon and have the left overs tomorrow as bubble and squeak to go with some sausages.
no lunch late brekkie bacon egg saute pots, tomato mushrooms fried bread fruit juice, tea toast marmalade and packed some sarnies for the journey home....don't want to go...the weather is lovely and it will be nearly three weeks before i can get back again...
Question Author
Three weeks will fly by, Rowan. I know it doesn't always seem like that. x
Brisket in a pot roast. With Swiss chard, leeks, jacket potatoes, curly kale. Followed by rhubarb crumble & custard. Everything home-grown except for the meat.
No idea yet, I'll have a look in the fridge later on. There's only me in today.

Well done you! I would love to grow my own veg, or at the very least, have a herb garden. I was growing my own herbs, but I let them wither...
