Building work in Voluntary Aided Catholic Schools is paid for jointly by the Government and the parents of pupils at school (news to me!) 10% of the full cost must be funded via parents or fundraising. The Diocese has asked the school governors to raise the 10% so that the burden no longer falls onto the parishes.

The estimated cost is 700k and must find 70k to meet our contribution. Please help by giving an amount monthly, quarterly or annually over a three year plan....

I think the clue to the letter might lie in the term, "Voluntary Aided Schools". No doubt there are other state schools in your area where you would not be called upon for a penny. You can always withdraw him and place him in a non-aided school, whereupon you can tell your parish priest to "FCUK RIGHT OFF!", as you so eloquently put it.
