Ladder's
Hi All
I'm after purchasing some external ladders which will easily reach gutter height (average semi house).
I know I can search the internet for some but I think if someone can recommend from here I'll be more confident of buying a pair.
Thanks in advance

Hi Slid ............ .. unless they've changed it all again recently, they're usually Class 1, 2, and 3.
Class 1 is what hire companies and building firms use. Class 3 are often so flimsy as to be uncomfortabl e to use.
Go for Class 2. "D" rung ( cross- section of rung in the shape of letter D) are usually fine for anyone.
Also, rather than go for one just long...

Class 1 is what hire companies and building firms use. Class 3 are often so flimsy as to be uncomfortable to use.

Also, rather than go for one just long enough on full stretch, get one a bit longer. They "feel" a lot better when you're up there.

Around the place here in the U.S., I couldn't do without this Little Giant in the 22 foot model... Don't know if it or a similar style would be available in the U.K.

To add to Builder's answer, I'd go for one that will extend to around 3 feet above the gutter line when placed at the correct angle. There are some tips about ladders to be found here...

A few weeks ago I was asked to empty some gutters of a bungalow ...
The elderly owner told me his next door neighbour who was 76, had kindly offered to do it for him.
He says ...''She's a lot better now...He feeds her cat and visits her in hospital everyday''...!
She only fell a couple of feet, but landed on her head..!
