Does anyone know anyway to 'mend' scratched CD's even if it is only temporarily so a copy can be made?

You can get a machine which polishes the discs by skimming off the top layer - you can get them in most larger computer game stores and some places like HMV or Virgin. They are relatively inexpensive I believe (abt. �30?).
