Does anybody else remember the old Australian series where Patrick McGoohan spends his time trying to escape from that village in Wales? Llellbloch Aitch, or something? It was really surreal with that huge bubble and was there ever an ending, or was that the whole point?

I remember it well Birchy. It had a cult following. The filming took place in Portmierion in Wales:--)
It was recently all repeated on BBC4.

PMcG was known as Number 6, and the series produced the catchphrase "I am not a number, I am a free man"

I think (memory is failing with old age) that the bubble was called Rover, and it used to chase after and capture people who tried to escape from the village.

The whole thing was never explained, but in a previous separate series PMcG played a Secret Service operative who wanted out. The implication was that he was being held by the Government who were attempting to brainwash him and make him forget his previous life.

Sorry All.....a childish protest about duff AB "questions". The Prisoner/Prisoner Cell Block H allusion was silly and uncalled for. I'll TRY not to get so worked up again.....
you are officially the biggest tit ever to stain these pages. now go away and do something constructive.

The Prisoner - I loved it...watched it - i think it was the 2nd time round in about 83/4. I fell in love with Number6!!!...

Incidentally, Iron Maiden produced a song called "The Prisoner" with those same words..."I'm not a prisoner, I'm a free man"
