Hello all EVers
Nothing too reactionary today, despite the warning to use a pencil at first. Time for a glass of my usual!

Not seen an EV for a week or two, will look at today's later. Do agree Doc, some more scribble space would be good, also, I do wish 'they' would put the puzzle in either the top or the bottom bit of the page, vertical is difficult.
Any news of Mini 2 since I have been out of it?

AndrewG-S and Devadolly, flattered rather than blushing! Am tempted to put on some decent clothes and shave! That web-cam might come in useful after all!
Welcome back Devadolly, have you been holidaying? No idea about mini 2, Physics-girl hasn't posted since announcing iminent arrival of latest issue.

I went back to EV 934 and the lesson from Doc HH was
"it is necessary that each would have to have their own individual identity. so I'd suggest p-g/2/1 and p-g/2/2., a system that can be extended for triplets, quadruplets and even more" etc.
Very confusing when product codes are unilaterally switched back to an obsolete version

Hi all,
just checking in. Dispatched this one fairly easily on Saturday; just goes to show they don't have to be extra difficult to be enjoyable. I missed last week as I've been shuttling back & forth to Chicago to look after my parents, who are ailing. I didn't have Internet access last week and had too much to do when I got home! All part of life's rich pageant.

Sorry everyone, have been absent today for good reason! We had a major event at our local Talking Newspaper. As we are currently changing over to sending out the newspaper on memory sticks rather than cassette tapes, and we have spent a lot of our resources on players for our Listeners/Readers we applied for a Lottery Grant, we were successful. We were awarded about 50% of our expenditure, and today we had the presentation ceremony, Big Lottery boss for the SE came, our patron the mayor received the cheque and the Press were there too. We are really pleased, the award has made a real difference to our future operation.
OK, excuses over. The P-G thing is not entirely product code, P-G/1 will indicate product code and the next digit the serial number of that product. Devadolly, you interpretted the system correctly. Don't you just love the sound deadlines make as they go whooshing past!
DrB, you have my sympathy, I went through that some years ago, but they were only a 100 miles away. I look back now and wonder how I managed running 2 homes that far apart. On the other hand you have to do as much as you can, or you will regret what you didn't do for the rest of your life. You need to be able to look back and think "I could not have reasonably done any more."
Novalis, my paper copy of last week's EV clue section was also a mess, worse than this weeks.

Hi DocHH!
I echo Andrew G-S's sentiments. Keep up the good work. The Lottery grant is well merited for such a life-enhancing service.
Browsing through the wine display at our local Asda earlier I noticed a Chilean Shiraz at £7.98 a bottle......or 3 for £10. In honour of Sebastian Pinera's visit to Britain and to drink a toast to the San Jose 33 it seemed very rude not to avail myself of such an offer. It's 14% proof and I've a quiz to write. There could well be some weird questions.!!
