The sink is leaking a bit where it meets the U bend. Thought I'd seal the gap with chewing gum. Then sterlise. Gunm dries rock hard and waterproof. Cheaper and quicker than putty. But are there any downsides? Thanks.
lol ... Doc's right. Should be plastic fittings? Probably a seal popped out of place. Get some the correct diameter for the pipework .. either 35 or 40mm and re-assemble with a bit of fairy on the seals.
I install the odd Belfast Sink ... and the odd English Sink.
The old fashoined way was to use a piece of lead shaped to fit over the outlet, and use putty.
I use a little silicone.
I saw one recently that had been installed 8 years. The complete void inside for the overflow was filled completely with sealant! OF never worked. Bodger boys.
