Hi there,

First of all I really feel for you, I have the same problem and it is impossible for me to wake up before I'm ready to.  The only things that wake me up are people physically dragging me out of bed, hitting me etc.  One thing I have noticed is that if I get a new alarm then I will wake up to it for the first 3 or 4 days since I am not used to hearing it, but after that I just ignore it. This drives my flatmates crazy as the alarm then goes onto ring for about an hour and at no point will I wake up or ever remember hearing it!

You could try sleeping with your mobile phone beside your bed and every few nights change the alarm tone.  This is what I find works.  You should also find out if your fire alarm wakes you up because mine does not and I have slept through it twice, luckily they were both false alarms.

Another thing you could try is a 'shake awake' alarm which is basically a device you place under your mattress which gives off an electric shock in the morning to wake you.

You should visit this forum for more info and talk to people with the same problems!

Good Luck!

Vickyclare, Where can i get this "shake awake" alarm from?

There are many different types of them.
Here is a list from a British based store, the vibrating ones are at the top:

Hi Vicky,

Had a few problems with the delivery, first time round, as soon as i got the alarm clock,it fell to bits so i had to send it back, then my work asked me if i could come in at 6 one morning, so i did. And had to wake up at 0330, because i live 40 miles away, and since that day, no problems with my sleeping at all.

How are you keeping?
