taking the pill on my travels

hello ya'll im taking the contraception pill, the one you take everyday, and have done for about a year now. my question is, can i take it to asia, will they let me past boarders with it? for example crossing the boarder of thailand to malaysia...

I don't travel outside Europe these days but when previously going long haul I checked out every country for their regulations. All my drugs are prescription but some are banned substances in some countries. The info you need is all on the web.

yeah ive looked on their web pages but they all mention other medicines, none of them say anythign about the pill

Have you tried Googling 'contraceptive' rather than 'the pill'?

And 'border' instead of 'boarder'...?

You might check it out with the Foreign Office. Look at your pill info sheet and note the active ingredients......

how long are you going for? could you take the injection instead before you go?

One thing I would recommend is if you can take it with you, take it a) in your hand luggage b) in the original box with the prescription label on the front. When I went to Saudi Arabia (who tolerate no drugs) I also got a letter from my GP to say what I was taking, drug name etc. just to be on the safe side.

lum... if you are taking Malaria pills whilst out in SE Asia, check to see whether the contraceptive pill you are on may be effected by them...

Get your drugs wrong in Thailand, and you may well come across many boarders in a Thai prison..!

There`s absolutely no problem taking the contraceptive pill into those countries.

oh the implant i did think about but the weird thing is i can handle getting tattooed, thats fine. but an injection? no way in hell lol strange i know but i couldnt do that! lol

Absolutely no problem with contraception - how do you think airline crews manage? If you`re on the progesterone only pill it can be a pain because you have a window of about 2 hours to take it and it`s really difficult with time changes, but with the combination pill - no problem.
