The title of the song by Serge and Jane is Je t'aime - moi non plus, if that's the one you mean

I seem to remember reading that Serge Gainsbourg recorded 'Je T'aime (Moi Non Plus)' with Brigitte Bardot first, but she didn't like it and blocked the song's release.

He then discovered (and seduced) the young Jane Birkin, and re-recorded the song with her. It was this version that became an international hit in 1969.

It caused consternation here in the UK and was banned from the airwaves (well, the new Radio 1 at least) - not just for the heavy breathing, and general puffing and panting,  but also for the (French) lyrics, such as;

Tu va et tu viens
Entre mes reins

literally translated means 'You go and you come between my kidneys"

For anyone who wants to buy Frankie Howerd & June Whitfields version. You can get it at www.tesco.com/entertainment and in the cd title put June Whitfield. The album is called June Whitfield - Havin' a laugh. It cost �8-69 for a 4 cd album. Well worth a listen to !
