I will give it a try but may offer it to Mr Den first to see if he would like to wear it on the train, during the rush hour on his way into London. !!

If there's a Mr Den (or a gentleman caller!) you could both get in it and see what happens! Belated happy birthday. Talking of ghastly gifts, what's the worst you've ever received? Mine (Christmas) was a very nasty, tacky manicure set, with broken scissors, ripped cover, and fastener that didn't fasten, with price label of 99p attached, plus the receipt!!!! MIL's way of expressing her displeasure that I didn't like her son being a lying, vicious git.
Den, these are fantastic! You might *** it off just now, but come the cold winter nights you'll be inseparable from it. It's supposed to be huge so you can tuck it under all round you and keep you even cosier - and if it gets so cold that you can't remove it to go iinto the kitchen for more hot chocolate then yes, put a belt round it and keep it up off the floor. I know they don't look great, but they are quick to whip off if someone comes to the door. You'll be thanking your son soon enough, believe me! :)
