I filled one lot (about 30) with prawn cocktail, another lot with egg mayonnaise and a third with chicken in white sauce. Arrange on a silver plattter and garnish with salad (for colour and effect). They went down a treat!
My 60th is on Wednesday!............lots of friends and family will descend on me for food and drinks!...................Ooooh, I was prepared, but now in panic mode, so much to do!.......so little time!.......shouldn't be having this pressure!.....sorted some food, will shop again tomorrow then work, work and work!..........then it's just...............hope it works out!............
Oh sher, I know, so maniac here, trying to write shopping lists!.....Still missings things!..........Lost the list!...........trying to cook meats, make cakes..........etc......still need to do more shopping!....................and maybe even look tidy on the night!.............No chance!......................
Word of caution, however. If cooking in a private home, rather than through a catering company, watch out for health and hygiene issues. I went to a charity event catered for by a 'womens' club ( think 'calendars) and biiting into my first sandwhich I found a long black hair! Had to carry on though and finish it and the rest of the food on my plate as I was sitting with the head of the town's charity and the mayor. Gross!

This question pops up quite often. From my perspective I'd like more information, such as:-
Are you looking for what supermarkets offer good deals on party food?
Are you looking for what supermarkets offer 'good' party food, and what is recommended?
Do you want to do it all yourself & are looking how to minimise the effort? i.e. what can you do in advance and freeze?
Do you want snack food, i.e. sausage rolls, mini quiche etc
Do you want a hot fork buffet?
What is your budget?
What is your preferred style of food?
At home or a location that you need to transport the food to?
Without this kind of detail it is likely that posters will not get the answers they are looking for.
