Press down hard and turn anti clockwise.

thanks a lot mate. i know it was a dumb question but i just got the car and was a bit scared to force the cap.

well i tried sitting on the thing and still no joy....

Something wrong somewhere, mate ! Either take it to Kwik Fit and act the dummy or drink more Guiness !
