Why is it that so many people quote certain passages from the Bible to back up their claims against homosexuality, birth control, women priests etc. Why is it that these people don't follow the other passages of the bible forbidding eating seafood, certain haircuts, or even allowing slavery. Also, why aren't these arguments put to these bible bashers to see what their arguments are?

(2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

Those Israelite laws [ 600 odd] relating to seafoods etc were replaced by just two...

(Matthew 22:36-40) “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”

If you 'love' your neighbour, you will refuse to go to war, regardless of what politicians say.
You will not SAY anything against your neighbour [ anyone else]
You will not STEAL; from your neighbour...
His goods or his wife.

And you will not 'enslave' him, by having him work for less thabn he deserves...or even what the government THINKS he is worth.

In short...be good to other people...but love and obey God FIRST.
