Our local library, a large one, is due to be unveiled as a new Discovery centre at the end of November, so what can we expect?...noise, noise and more noise? Ta Muchly.
We've got a Discovery Centre here in Dover, woodelf, had it for several years - it's really excellent. Library, creche, theatre, public meeting rooms, LearnDirect centre, large range of Adult Education classes, children's activities, teen area, café.
Many Thanks Again Box, but isn't it noisy in there? I suppose I'm of the old fashioned brigade that likes a library to be full of hush except for the dusty ruffle of book pages!
No - the library part is still separate and quiet and full of people riffling and choosing. There is a children's library where they do book readings etc., but that's slightly apart from the adult part. You can find the reception area can be busy, in ours that's where the books are logged in and out, but the rest of it is still silent (except in between classes, or when we have a show on!).
No, not Status Quo, woodelf - smile! - but the local community theatre, we have a great time with the young people putting on plays and musicals, adults too. They are not there when the library is open, fear not!
And a Good Evening to you too Chris and dunner worry, email me at any time and I hope your problems will soon be over and Many Thanks for the blog info.
Well Box, after my weak joke...laff, I thought I'd never start....I'll just have to wait and see when it opens, eh? Ta again.
