I susbscribed to a recent thread on CB. When someone answered, the link in the email I received didn't take me to that thread as it usually does, but it took me to the CB home page (where I had to go find the thread if I wanted to see the new post). Something not quite right here!

Hi boxtops....You must be one of the privileged ABers to get E/mail notifications; even if they do mislead you. I don't get any, and have complained to the Ed but have not had any response from him on the matter.

Ron.
Apologies boxtops for having re-iterated my problem, because you were the final respondent in my thread to which I have drawn your attention. However, I am now going to say for the Eds attention " E/mail notifications need to be sorted-out in your November up-date of AB."

If you subscribe to a thread and someone answers you get a screen alert near the bottom of the left-hand side of the screen which you can click on to go straight to the thread.
Sorry that should be right-hand side (lady driver)......
craft...What you say does interest me, but, being somewhat backwards on most computer matters,I regret being unable to appreciate what you are saying about alerts on the right hand side of the screen. I have never seen any; my bad eyesight perhaps.
However I would appreciate further info.

Ron.
Hi vivandorron- if you subscribe to a thread then a box entitled Subscribed Threads appears directly underneath the strip of Ads by Google which is directly below the Latest Posts box at the right of the screen
Hi factor30 ....thanks for the info....I've never paid any attention to that area of my screen because it's never correct. It's less than 10 mins since you replied to me but, according to the section concerned, it's an hour ago.

Ron
Afternoon all.

We'll look into it when we get a bit of time Ron.

Boxtops: Just a couple of things it could, be:

1. The thread was removed. When you try to access a removed thread your browser will direct you to the category page instead.

2. Magic.

I believe the issue could be something to do with at least one of the above issues.

What was the name of the thread you were looking for? I will have a look into this for you.

All the best,

Spare Ed
I can never really see the need for email alerts. Why not just go to 'My Profile' / 'Threads involving me'?
i agree i would rather not have emails, just clutters up my email account.
