daffodils

As i walk round town i see daffodils every where how do they get there?. i'm shaw bulbs were not placed where they are growing

Daffodil bulbs are very hardy so whilst some are indeed planted by the Local Authority and/or Local residents others have simply been discarded and grown where they have been thrown.

Daffodil bulbs are also planted by Round Table clubs and Rotary clubs as well you don't actually have to dig a hole just get a tool like a dibber to make a hole in the ground and drop the bulb in then squash the soil back over it , they are usually planted on round abouts and the approach to towns but they last for years and they spread quite well

Could it be squirrels nicking them and burying them? I'm not sure about that though - they might be toxic to critters.
