At next years trafalgar parade, i shall be an instructor, and because I will only just have become one, I won't have a number 1 uniform so won't be able to do the parade, which is being hosted by my unit.

Should I offer to help cook for the people training for the guard (mum says the commitee are thinking of doing it in pairs, so everyone only have to do part of one meal) It'll be for roughly 50 people plus If I do the evening meal, I can stay and help the people in the guard get their uniforms perfect.

A good way of getting me in the good books with the commanding officer?

I won't be allowed to wear a number one uniform until I've got to a certain rate which is impossible to get to in a month. But they are changing the first few adult rates around soon so I don't know how it's going to work.

But I very much doubt i'll have one to wear, even if they do drastically change the system.

Carrot I'll have a number 4 uniform to wear, but I won't be able to parade in it. But especially seeing as it'll be the first event after i become an instructor, i want to seem enthusiastic and turn up to help. For cadets it's a compulsory parade but I don't want to make it look as if I only go because I had to. If that makes sense.
sorry what I mean is what will you wear when you become an instructor and won't that be good enough for the parade?

My cousin's name is Niamh but her brother could pronounce the V so started calling her Nix and it stuck. I'm usually called Nicky by my family.
