Windows XP networking
I'm trying to network our three computers so that they can share documents and printer. The computers are all on the same internet network, accessing through a wireless router (PC wired, laptops wireless). The PC and one of the laptops run Windows XP, the other laptop runs Windows 7.
The Windows 7 laptop and the PC are working fine, but I can't access files on or from the XP laptop. Although the other computers appear in 'View Workgroup Computers', when I click on one of the others, I get the message that it is 'not accessible' and 'You might not have permission to use this network resource.'
I've tried disabling the firewall and antivirus in case this is the problem, but to no avail.
Any help with this would be grately appreciated.

If you have not got a Windows password assigned then set one up.
It is best if each PC has at least the same userid and password REGISTERED with Windows even if you are not logged on as them.
So if you log on the W7 PC as say userid Fred password Rooney, then one the XP machine register a Windows user called Fred with a password Rooney. .

Thanks for all your help. Yes, they're all on 'WORKGROUP', file and printer sharing is turned on and, as I say, the XP PC is talking happily to the Windows 7 laptop. The XP laptop can see the other computers, but I'm appear not to have permission to use this network resource and I'm directed to the adminstrator (which, as the only user of that computer, would be me!)
I'm intrigued by the Windows Userid and password business. Could this be my problem? And, if so, can you tell me how to do this?
Thanks in advance.
