Hi all I recently purchased some ugg boots on ebay as the seller had 98% feedback. The boots arrived, I opened the box to a very bad smell. So decided to contact seller and tell him the boots were fake, (bad stiching, logo off) he said he would give me a full refund. So I sent them back at a cost of £8.50 to me.

He waited 4 days to collect from post office, then said he refused to give me a refund as they had been worn (lie) and the poly bags were missing (another lie) I have opened a dispute, but the guy is so arrogant he has told me he has no intention of paying.

I have since looked and my boots (legally they are still mine) have been re listed on ebay!
Will or can trading standards help me?

thanks

How did you pay for the boots?

Hi I used paypal
You will probably be ok. Paypal tend to side on the buyer rather than the seller. They will probably give you a refund and then get the money from the seller. I have had a couple of disputes as a buyer and they fell in my favor.

Good luck.

You were actually expecting these to be the genuine article, on ebay? Were they advertised as genuine?

Fair enough, get your money back if they are not up to the quality implied in the advert, but you must question why they were being sold cheap on ebay if they are supposedly genuine.
Remember you only have 45days to lodge a dispute with paypal
I hope you got a RECORDED slip not a POP or you have lost your money I'm afraid
how much were they? Tell him you'll report him
