i was 19 when i had my first
25 when i had my second
if i could turn back time i wish i had waited till my 30's
do you feel your age was right to have them?
Glad you feel the same Tasty. People think I am strange. I don't mind having them as long as I am not expected to be a child minder or baby sitter. My son says he doesn't want any either!
I have 3 boys, 1 when 22, 1 when 31 and 1 when 37. If at all possible would have had them closer together, its a bit like having seperate families sometimes. i love them all, the 23 yr old is my firstborn, we grew up together (my husband left me just before he was born) the 14yr old is the one most like me, and my 8yr old is a carbon copy of his dad, but still my baby as i'm too old now to have any more....
We had been married 11 Dave. Initially neither of us wanted kids, ever, but we changed our mind when we felt we were responsible enough and ready to be good parents.
Ha ha, found that hilarious funnygirl, cos if my mum had said that, we would be turning round and saying the boots on the other foot now as all the family take it in turns to babysit her as she cannot be left of her own too long. Shes 89, blind as a bat and almost deaf, but still insists on doing things, so we have to babysit her on a rota system.
My mum started her second family when I was 14 and went on to have 3 more children who in turn grew up ,married and had children of their own so I have been looking after babies in one way or another since then and I think that this is my NOW time.I have told both my boys that if they ever become parents then there will be no vying for favouritism from me,Their partners parents can have them all they want.Fortunately neither of them is interested in becoming parents and neither are their long term partners.Although like Lotty they do think I am strange!!
Congratulations!! Bet you are enjoying him. I found that I had a lot more patience with my child than many of the young mums. I really enjoyed his company and made the most of it. We had a lovely time together and he says I never looked any older than the other mums, bless him!!
Thanks Lofty, I'm enjoying him very much. It is hard work looking after a baby as they are naturally very demanding. My mum and dad love him to bits and help out a lot. He is their first grandchild.
it does make it easier when you have a supportive family i.I was 19 and a single mum, with daughter number 1
mum and dad helped out but i was told from the word go " its your child not mine "
my eldest 19 wants a hysterectomy and says she will never have kids !!!!!!!!!!!! to vain lol
