Worrying cat behaviour
My 4 1/2 year old neutered male is acting quite strange. Since I moved in here, he has become extremely close to my other half's 8 year old spayed female. They are practically inseperable.
However, just recently, he has taken to jumping on her back with one of his front legs wrapped round her. Sometimes she accepts it and sometimes she rightly gives him a clout. Over the last few days, he has escalated this so that when he jumps on her back he bites her!!!!!!!
Can anyone explain why he might be doing this? Is there anything that I can do to stop him because its not nice for the female. Is it possible he is trying to mate with her? I don't know how he thinks he is going to achieve this though, since he lacks the necessary!!

Biting is not usual, to hold the female still round the neck while doing the deed. Was he late being done? He may still remember what it's like!

I hadn't really thought of it like that boxtops! He wasn't allowed out until he'd been done. He may have tried it on with my old female, although I somehow think he'd have been eaten alive if he'd gone near her. I think he was about 6 months when he was done. What led to it was that he escaped and injured himself quite badly so I took him to the vets to have him stitched up and said "while you're at it......".
