oh yes, love the traditional carols, now the kids are older I miss the nativity plays! there was a magical innocence about it all. I still get the school made decorations though, I save them and use them every year to decorate the tree
good to see ya jth, I hope you are well
the schools sometimes are loathe to put the Nativity on now cazzz, we are lucky , ours do where my grandson attends
Christmas is great if you have lots of people to see and lots of presents to give and take but if you are alone, it's not so good. That's why I would rather have Hallowe'en for me there is more going on and everyone is taking part. (including me). I wouldn't exactly say Bah, humbug, but maybe just a little Bah!
I enjoy the run-up to Christmas, but then I'm lucky. Here in Vienna the first markets open in two weeks with punsch and mulled wine stands all over the city. Great on a cold day. You can already get roasted chestnuts and potatoes. Christmas Day itself doesn't do anything for me, a kind of anti-climax - never lives up to expectations.
Hello sis - I must be getting old - I regret that I lose more of the joy of Christmas each year. Too much commercialism and too many memories I suspect. For my money I would pull the duvet well over my head until early January.
