You can't beat a bit of cheese during the festive season.

What's your favourite cheese, and what's your favourite thing to serve with it?

I can understand disliking olives-as they can have quite a strong flavour...personally-I love them. And to dislike tomatoes,is to dislike the sun...it's in every bite.
As for cheeses-I love feta as NoM described in a Mediterranean salad, or crumbled over warm bulghar wheat and roast red, yellow and orange peppers-with plenty of olive oil over. I love blue cheeses-and grew up with Danish blue, now I love either a very strong Stilton with rough oat cakes,or Shropshire blue.
If we're talking 'fish', then fresh Marides , straight off the boat, in a little flour + paprika and fried ...

stilton grilled on field mushrooms and pint of scrummy to stagger with.
You're not the only one, CailinDeas. I'm feeling hungry too. Annoyingly, there are probably only one or two days in the year when I've not got some cheese available but this happens to be one of them!
I've had to settle for a bowl of muesli instead ;-(

TT;
Ooh, I love Gorgonzola. Have you tried the Co-op one? It's surprisingly good (and much nicer than the offerings of some expensive delis).

All this lovely grub and you're eating sawdust and rabbit-maltesers ... ugh!
I like a very mature cheddar for cheese on toast...Red Leicester has never appealed to me.
I also like grating parmesan over a jacket potato and then popping it under the grill.. And ricotta crumbled into hot roast veggies and mixed into pasta is divine.

A small wedge of Stilton or strong cheddar on Ritz biscuits with Branston pickle or a small silverskin onion. I'll eat most of a packet of Ritz like that - on a tray in front of the TV!
Ritz???
Way, way, too salty for me (and I'm a guy who needs about half a dozen of those little salt sachets, that restaurants seem to love, on my chips!).

Incidentally, Andyvon, (since you posted on the subject of avatars earlier on) I really like your eagle ;-)
Thank you Buenchico. I don't wish to hijack NoMercy's thread so apologies NoM. It was you Buenchico who helped me sort out an avatar in the first place. You then pointed out the photo I used was too small and couldn't be seen! I then found the eagle on the Clipart CD. I'm pleased you like it. I've always liked your freak thing. Isn't it a muppet?
Lol,tony...only if you agree to do all the dishes.
Thanks for your post, Andy.

Yes, it's the wonderful Animal, seen here in one of his quieter moments. (It takes about 10 seconds for the picture to appear)
