My wife and daughter are going shopping and doing touristy things in London on the 3rd 4th 5th Dec. It seems all hotels in central London is booked up at that time.
Can anyone suggest a nice hotel or inn that is near a tube station outer city centre?? Thanks in advance.

premier inn has a hotel at Ilford, right by Redbridge undergound station
B&B around Ruislip average £40+ a night. Try these, they have tube stations nearby

Yeah redcrx! but Ilford is still quite away from London Shopping area's. It would add quite a bit to your budget too the rail fares.

Can't see it would add that much, if anything at all, to travel costs, Redbridge is in zone4 so a one day travel card would cover it.
there is a great travel lodge by luton if thats not too far out of the way
suppose it will depend on difference between that and the cost of a central hotel too.

2 nights (3rd and 4th) are £139 a room at the premier inn.
somewhere midway, like the Guoman Tower hotel is £169 a night per room

theres also the Hilton Docklands which is south bank but has its own jetty for the river buses. Thats quoting £101 for a twin room per night on those dates

Thanks for the input everyone. Lots of info there. I didn`t realise that getting about London was so tricky! It seems the lines from outer city ie Ruilslip, require a few station changes? Being a country boy this is all new ground!! I wondered then if the Hilton via water taxi may be the best option? My good lady and daughter will be fully loaded with shopping, and im thinking may be problematic!! Many thanks again.
there is a Jury's Inn or something near Wembly Arena. thats pretty much central london.
Try the grafton on tottenham court road. It's ok and it's next door to warren street tube station.
I would stay somewhere nice like Richmond which is on the district line tube and the a fast overland train. It`s a pleasant place to come back to after a day`s shopping.
I've just googled hotels in Southampton Row which is central, and served by Russell Square tube, they have vacancies for those dates.

^^ The Montague on the Garden is lovely with a great restaurant (I used to stay there when the company was paying)
Why not just go with a cheap B&b?
Ooooo! itsmefolks, I thought you were trying to stick to a budget but evidently not, with you sujesting the 'HILTON' go for it, surely they will have a room.
You might have to apply for a mortgage though,
tee-hee I hope they have a wonderful time (I'm jealous)

I didn't see her mention the hilton also , so a cheap b&b definitely out of the question I think!
it was the Hilton - docklands they were talking about, one that i suggested further up the page. lol
Travelodge Wembley from £45, there's a sale on

Hi itsmefolks,
Why not try Jury's Inn at Heathrow Airport - it's just along the road form Hatton Cross on the Piccadilly Line, straight through to Piccadilly Circus without any changes.

Not normally - most have through tube services to central London. Maybe not the exact station you want - but somewhere near it.

And with a travelcard or Oyster the cost is not a lot different to staying in the centre. The time it takes is the problem - particularly if you want to return to the hotel in the day and then go back for more retail therapy.
