I find the comedian Michael Mcintyre really funny and I'm watching him right now on the program This Morning

Love MM,a very clever man.
I have watched various comedians,since they branched out from stand-up.
These include Rhod Gilbert,John Bishop and Stephen K. Amos,all of whom have been given their own shows.
IMO they do not seem to be able to "bridge the gap" at present.

John Bishop ( the scouser comedian ) is very good, imo, and so is Stephen K Amos.

Rhod Gilbert has always made me laugh.

I'm with Lottie here, I love MM and Jack Dee is a scream. Can't stand commediennes, Victoria Wood was OK but she has had her day now I think.

Micky I have read most comedian's autobiographies or biographies, I find them fascinating because in most of the individuals there is always a dark side.

Any particular recommendations yogasun? If i go to Waterstones or Whsmith i have a bad feeling i will be walking out with a lot of pricey Autobiographies.

Yogasun, maybe its not a darkside at all as all of us have our happy side and tend to leave the bad and negative moments and thoughts and hide them from our work colleagues family and friends so with the comedians maybe because we see them as bringers of good feelings we tend to psychologically see them as all happy and forget that they are only human too and suffer the exact same negatives that we do.

Honestly couldn't pick any particularly, they are all very interesting.

I agree about the dark side but many a lot of them have/had drink/drug problems or struggled with depression or have been hooked on medication drugs. I'm thinking of Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howerd, Spike Milligan, Tony Hancock, Larry Grayson, Kenneth Williams, the list is endless!!
