Hi I am thinking of getting a v plus box . My son has a profound hearing problem but Virgin Media cannot tell me whether I would be able to record subtitles on their box !
Can anyone please let me know the answer to this ?

Basically if they exist at at all, they are accessible.
I should think other digital formats are the same, but I couldn't swear.
Gotta be honest tho, it's poor service if even the supplier doesn't know or can't find anyone who does!

I have the Humax PVR-9150T which I am delighted with, yes it records subtitles, and will record two channels at the same time. The subs come on automatically but you can turn them off if not required. I bought a Thomson first, which was great at first, but after a few months it started to 'do its own thing', i.e. delete stuff and did not always record etc. I took it back for a refund and bought the Humax. I think this is a long term problem with the Thomson, according to the reviews, and I notice Asda are selling them off for 50!! The Humax was 120 a couple of months ago. I know you asked about Virgin, but just thought this might help too. Rosy
Hi Lincare
Albeit very belated!!! Would like to add that I too am hard of hearing and use subtitles whilst watching TV.
I have a Virginmedia V+ box and even if you do not have subtitles switched on whilst recording.you can still get them. Before starting to watch your recording, make sure s`titles are turned as if you are watching live TV.
Good tv watching!
