In the event of a war outside Europe who would you prefer to fight with the French or the Germans ?

In my opinion, the best fighting men are:

a) the Israelis
b) the Germans
c) the Finns

The French, Italians and Argentinians would need to draw lots for the last place.

Gromit The French left Nato in 1966 because they didn't want to co-operate with us and the US . and they stayed out for 42 years. and even then they only rejoined to save money.

I wouldn't want to be fighting side by side with anyone who had no interest and nothing to fight for.

Our lack of a clear objective in Afghanistan could be one reason we are there after 10 years and not much has changed. We are fighting a proxy war for the US, British personnel are killed and the British interest is ambiguous.
